Heart Health Check in Werribee
A heart health check looks at your risk of heart disease and stroke, so you can act early. Medicare funds a heart health assessment with a GP for people aged 30 and over, once a year. Harpley Doctors offers this check at our clinic in Harpley Town Centre, Werribee, and this page explains what it is, who is eligible and how to book one.
What a heart health check in Werribee covers
Medicare’s heart health assessment is a GP review of your risk of heart disease, for Medicare-eligible people aged 30 and over, no more than once every 12 months. It generally cannot be claimed if you had another Medicare health assessment in the previous 12 months.
Who should consider one
People with a family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or who smoke often ask about their heart risk. Your GP can talk through what applies to you, and a heart health check is a good place to start.
