Mental Health Care in Werribee
At Harpley Doctors in Werribee, our GPs understand the importance of mental health in total wellness. We offer non-judgemental, empathetic support and practical solutions for people living with a mental illness.

Your GP Is a Good Place to Start
If you are not sure where to go for help, a GP is a practical first step. Your GP can talk with you, consider your mental health alongside your physical health and lifestyle, and help you plan what comes next. You do not need a referral to see a GP about your mental health.
What We Can Help With
- Anxiety and ongoing worry
- Low mood and depression
- Stress related to work, study or personal life
- Sleep problems
- Emotional wellbeing through life stages and hormonal changes
- Ongoing support if you live with a long-term mental health condition
What to Expect
Your GP may ask about your mood, sleep, appetite and energy, your daily routine, and your medical and family history. Together you can agree on a plan, which may include a mental health care plan, a referral to a psychologist, everyday lifestyle strategies and follow-up appointments to see how you are going.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I can’t make my appointment?
Please let reception know as early as you can on (03) 8731 1330. Our cancellation policy is on the Patient Info and Fees page.
Is my appointment confidential?
Yes. Your medical record is a confidential document and is only available to authorised staff. If you have concerns about how your information is shared, please discuss them with our team.
How long is an appointment?
Our standard consultations are up to 15 minutes. If you think you may need extra time with a doctor, please let reception know when you book.
Can I have a phone consultation?
Phone consultations are available in some circumstances, but they are not recommended for anything that needs a physical examination. The doctor calls on the day of your booking, at any time during the day, and you need at least one face-to-face consultation with your doctor each year to remain eligible.
Can I bring an interpreter?
Yes. Tell reception before your visit, and we can request an onsite interpreter in advance or arrange a telephone interpreter.
