Medical Check-Ups in Werribee
A regular health check with your GP can help detect early signs of health problems, so they can be treated before they progress. Prevention is the best way to avoid unnecessary stress, save time and money, and protect your ongoing health and wellbeing.

Why Regular Check-Ups Matter
Many health conditions, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes, can develop for years without obvious symptoms. A regular check-up gives your GP the chance to spot early changes, talk about your risks and help you act before a problem becomes serious. It also builds a record of your health over time, so any change stands out. There is no need to wait until you feel unwell to book one.
What a Health Check May Include
- Blood pressure measurement
- Blood tests for cholesterol and blood sugar, collected at our onsite pathology
- A review of your immunisations
- A skin check
- Questions about your family history, lifestyle and mental wellbeing
- Screening tests recommended for your age
Checks Through Life
The checks that suit you depend on your age and health history. National screening programs include:
- Cervical screening every five years, for women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 74
- Bowel screening with a free home test kit every second year, for eligible people aged 45 to 74
- BreastScreen mammograms, free for women aged 50 to 74 and available from 40
For children, check-ups focus on growth, development and immunisations. For older adults, they often include medication reviews, memory and mobility checks, and care for ongoing conditions.
Making the Most of Your Visit
Write down any symptoms or questions beforehand and bring a list of your current medicines. If you think you need more time than a standard consultation, let reception know when you book. We may also send you SMS reminders for preventive health services such as immunisations and health checks.
Your Test Results
You will usually be notified of your results by text message, and for urgent results we will contact you by phone. Results are not given over the phone by reception or nursing staff, so please book an appointment to discuss them with your doctor.
