Occupational Health in Werribee
Harpley Doctors provides occupational health services in Werribee, including pre-employment medical examinations and job evaluations.

Health Checks for Work
Many jobs require a medical assessment before you start, or at points during your employment. The assessment helps you and your employer understand whether you are fit for the role and whether any support is needed.
Services for Workers and Employers
- Pre-employment medicals
- Job evaluations
- Taxi and driver’s licence medicals
- Q fever screening and vaccination for people who work with livestock
- Medical reports requested by employers
- Care and medical information for WorkCover claims
Q Fever and Livestock Work
Farmers, abattoir and meat workers, vets, shearers and others who work around livestock can be exposed to Q fever. Before vaccination, people need both a blood test and a skin test to check for previous exposure, and the skin test is read after seven days. Your GP can talk through whether your work puts you at risk. People who have already been exposed or vaccinated do not need the vaccine, and could react badly to it.
What a Work Medical May Involve
- Questions about your health history and any medicines you take
- A physical examination, such as blood pressure, height and weight
- Vision or hearing checks, where the role or licence requires them
- Any other tests listed on your employer’s form
Returning to Work After Injury
After a workplace injury, your GP can assess your capacity for work and help plan a safe return, including suitable duties while you recover.
Coming for a Work Medical
- Bring any forms from your employer or licensing authority
- Bring your photo ID and Medicare card
- Tell reception what the medical is for when you book, so enough time is set aside
