WorkCover Injuries: See a GP in Werribee

If you are hurt at work, you can see a WorkCover GP in Werribee at our clinic in Harpley Town Centre. Your GP assesses and treats the injury and completes the certificate of capacity you need to claim weekly payments. This page explains how a WorkSafe Victoria claim works, what to bring and how to book.

What your GP does

Your GP diagnoses the injury, works out what you can safely do at work, and estimates a recovery and return-to-work timeframe. WorkSafe Victoria explains that the first certificate of capacity must come from a medical practitioner such as a GP and lasts up to 14 days; later certificates can last up to 28 days.

Making a claim

According to WorkSafe Victoria, tell your employer as soon as possible and record the injury in the workplace injury register. Then fill in the worker’s injury claim form and give it to your employer, along with the certificate of capacity if you are claiming weekly payments.

What to bring

Our practice asks WorkCover patients to tell their employer first and bring the employer’s contact details so we can verify the claim and arrange payment. See Patient Info and Fees for our policies.

Treatment and recovery

Our GPs manage workplace injuries alongside sports and musculoskeletal care and pain management. Dr Arezoo Mirzaei lists WorkCover among her consultations, and Dr Mohamed Ghilan has training in rehabilitation and pain medicine.
