Women’s Health and Antenatal Care in Werribee
Harpley Doctors offers women’s health care in Werribee, with several female GPs at our clinic in Harpley Town Centre. We look after cervical screening, contraception, pregnancy and antenatal care, sexual health and the everyday health questions that come up at every stage of life. This page outlines what we offer and how to book with the doctor who suits you.
Choosing a women’s health GP in Werribee
Many patients prefer to see a woman for these appointments. Our female GPs include Dr Arezoo Mirzaei, who has a special interest in women’s health and performs IUD and Implanon insertion and removal, Dr Anahita Sepahrad, who enjoys pregnancy care, and Dr Khalida Batool, whose interests include antenatal and postnatal care and family planning. Our Doctors page lists the whole team.
Screening and check-ups
The National Cervical Screening Program invites women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 74 for a test every five years; the test looks for HPV. Book cervical screening with any of our GPs. Women aged 50 to 74 are also invited to a free BreastScreen mammogram every two years, and women from 40 can book one.
Contraception and sexual health
We offer contraceptive advice, IUD insertion and Implanon insertion, as well as sexual health checks. All consultations and procedures are bulk billed. See Patient Info and Fees for fees and practice policies.
Pregnancy and antenatal care
Our GPs provide antenatal care through your pregnancy. Two vaccines are free in pregnancy under the National Immunisation Program: the whooping cough vaccine, ideally between 20 and 32 weeks of each pregnancy, and the flu vaccine, at any stage. Our post on the whooping cough vaccine during pregnancy explains the timing.
Ongoing health and wellbeing
After your baby arrives, our GPs continue with postnatal care, and Dr Khalida Batool lists postnatal care among her interests. Seeing the same GP over time means your history is already known when something new comes up.
Women’s health also covers long-term conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, and emotional wellbeing. Our GPs offer chronic condition management and confidential mental health support, with referrals to specialists when needed.
